The story behind the image
Maitland Beach near Summerstrand in South Africa is one giant beach that stretches for about 20 kilometers between Port Elizabeth and Jeffrey’s Bay. When driving from P.E. on the M9 towards west you’ll pass an awesome viewpoint that also provides convenient access to the beach.
The rocks were a bit difficult to get to, but for this seagull it was much easier. However, the waves were clashing relentlessly in the back and a very strong wind blew the top of the breaking waves away.
Even if it shows ‘just’ a seagull, I think it is a nice and dramatic image.
