The story behind the image
Villach in Austria is a large, busy town (or a small city – this depends on your point of view.) It is situated close to Italy and Slovenia, so it’s a perfect place to visit these countries as well.
In 2018 we spent two weeks in Bodensdorf at the Ossiacher See which is just a short ride from Villach (about 15 minutes by car.) On a sunny day we visited the city.
From the Draubrücke (aka Villacher Stadtbrücke) in Villach I captured this view along the Hauptplatz. It is a pedestrian area today and features many small shops, restaurants and cafés. The magnificient church St. Jakob overtowers the scene.
Lovely.
