The story behind the image
From the Grand Canyon National Park we droved to Page, Arizona, using Highway 89. For miles and miles and miles we drove through a mostly untouched landscape with very little signs of human life (except the highway and road signs, of course.) I found it interesting that now and then there were gas stations, isolated houses, and even small communities.
Antelope Pass is on Highway 89 about one hour north of Cameron. There is a convenient parking lot that enables you to stop safely and take pictures.
My image shows the rather narrow highway (except for the passing lane) that has been built right onto the edge of the red rocks and that leads up to the pass.
A fantastic place.
