The story behind the image
A little over a month ago I was still roaming the beach, looking for beautiful scenes I might not have captured in Bellaria Igea Marina in Italy. The Blue Hour was in full swing, and the ferry pier was looking beautiful against the blue and deep red background.
I stuck the tiny tripod into the wet sand of the beach with the small EOS M6 Mark II mounted to its top. While it was slightly wobbly it was solid enough to take a number of photos.
Then I realized I should also take a behind-the-scenes photo of how I captured the pier: Well, here is one of the images. Taken with my new smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, I am amazed by the image quality of this image. I could take this image almost straight from the camera with just very few edits.
Awesome.
