The story behind the image
The ‘Angel of Peace’ overlooks Munich in Germany from above the Isar River, and it is one of the many icons of the city.
In September 2006 I took my camera to capture the monument shortly before sunset. The sun had already its orange glow and came almost straight from behind. The base of the monument was already in the shadow, but the pillar and especially the statue at the top were illuminated beautifully.
P.S.: Here’s a photo of the angel statue at the top.
