The story behind the image
From Cork we had been slowly making progress, always close to the southern coastline towards Bantry.
On our way we passed the beautiful town Kinsale and followed the R600 towards west. Near Coolmain we stopped at the Harbour View Beach and went up the road to the platform that provides stunning views across the bay. Several people enjoyed the refreshingly cold water of the Atlantic Ocean. A windsurfer practiced his skills. In the back, Coolmain Castle overlooked the scene.
Like most castles, it has a long history. Today it is said to be owned by the Disney family but if you can spend $15,000 the castle is yours – for a week.
