The story behind the image
The Vancouver Lookout is definitely one of Vancouver’s key attractions and a must-see for visitors of the city. It’s a viewing platform that resembles a giant airport tower sitting 168 meters (553 feet) high above the ground in the city center. Its 360° view across the city and its surroundings can only be called stunning.
I captured this photo towards south-east, showing the eastern end of False Creek and the geodesic dome of the Science World in the late afternoon. The sun was casting longer shadows already, enhancing the colors and contrast. That’s why I’d recommend to visit the Vancouver Lookout in the late afternoon.
