Wedding Ceremony, Bavaria, Germany

The story behind the image

The couple was very lucky with the weather. It was a clear, sunny, and warm summer day. The large historic church was packed with people – a rare sight these days, even for weddings.

I sneaked to the balcony to capture the scene from above. For this shot I picked the super wide angle zoom (16-35 mm) at its widest setting to capture the beauty of the large church. On the Canon EOS-1D Mark IV with its APS-H sensor (a 1.3 crop factor) this would resemble a 21 mm shot on full frame, i.e. still pretty wide

Very nice, and the couple loved the photos – which is paramount to me. 🙂
