The story behind the image
We were on our way back from an afternoon excursion on the river Cuando at the Chobe National Park in Botsuana. It was a pleasant tour, as we gazed into the sun and enjoyed the beautiful landscape.
We had seen a lot already on this tour. Hippos fighting, hippos enjoying a walk on the island, and crocodiles slipping into the water right next to us. Now the boat was speeding up as the dinner was waiting for us at the Chobe Safari Lodge.
I really like this image as it illustrates how beautiful the area really is. The aperture of f/16 created nice beams emerging from the sun, and the waves were gently breaking the smooth surface of the Cuando River.
