The story behind the image
In June 1999 Petra and I were invited to a two-day conference by Ericsson’s mobile phone unit. We had not been to Sweden before, and so we explored the city as soon as be had checked in to the hotel.
Of course, we visited the main piazza of the Kungliga Slottet (Kings Castle). And here I captured a photo of this palace guard. The sun was highlighting him against the walls in the back. I like the fact that his face and the shiny polished helmet get the center of attention. And you can tell by his appearance that he’s taking his job serious. Very serious.
