The story behind the image
In 2017 we visited the Baltic Sea for two weeks, concretely the village of Niendorf close to Lübeck in Germany. While it is just a small community it has everything you’d expect from a summer destination: a beautiful beach, restaurants, small shops, a supermarket. But it’s not super vibrant and busy like its bigger neighbors, Timmendorfer Strand and Travemünde. In a way, it’s a diamond waiting to be discovered. So, in short – it’s perfect for us.
One late afternoon we went to the small harbor to get some good fish for dinner, and on our way back we admired the approaching sunset. I put the small EOS M on a solid pole to enable a longer exposure times (at ISO 200), resulting in a set of attractive maritime images.
In this image, I especially like the slight motion blur of the red flags in the top right corner. Nice.
