The story behind the image
We love holidays at the sea. In 2015 we travelled once more from Munich to Eckernförde at the Baltic Sea. It used to be a busy working harbor with lots of fish boats. These have massively reduced over time, and today there are just very few active fishermen. But there’s also the military harbor and a yacht harbor. So, the town is the perfect destination for anyone who likes to see boats and ships. What’s more, it’s one of the few towns that offer all the ameneties you would expect as a tourist and that has a beach right next to the city center.
In this sunset image I like the calm mood and the traditional boat on the right. As I had brought just the Canon EOS M with its kit lens, the ‘beams’ from the sun are not as beautiful as they could have been with a better lens. Heck, I love the image anyway.
