The story behind the image
In 2004, we had visited South Africa for the first time, the beginning of a long lasting love story with the country and its neighbors, Namibia, Botsuana, and Zimbabwe.
As we had no experience with sub-Sahara Africa, we wanted to start slowly by exploring Cape Town and the Garden Route, an excellent decision. We flew into Cape Town and had a look around this wonderful city and the Cape Peninsula. Then we drove east through the wineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, continuing through The Karoo towards Addo Elephant National Park. Then we turned around and drove slowly along the Garden Route back to Cape Town.
On our last day we visited Bloubergstrand, a bit outside of Cape Town. The weather was perfect, and we experienced this stunning panorama.
Nice.
