The story behind the image
Tuscany keeps on being a very popular destination for tourists from all over the world, and it’s easy to see why: You get culture, history, unspoilt landscapes, and even beaches (at west coast)!
Siena is one of these stunning places. Best known for the Palio di Siena, a horse race where riders from each town quarter (Contrada) compete against each other – on the Piazza del Campo right in the town center.
This shot shows the tower of the Palazzo Pubblico (Mayor’s Office) from the Chiasso del Bargelle, one of the countless narrow streets surrounding the Piazza del Campo where the Palio takes place. I especially like the extreme composition that brings out the narrowness of the street and the beauty of the tower. Love it.
