The story behind the image
Here is a nice shot of Praia de Alvor as it presented itself to us in 1995: towards the west, it’s one giant beautiful beach. There were huge natural dunes that protected the village and lagoon from the forces of the Atlantic Ocean. Two women walk their dog along the waterline.
In general, the beach looks very similar today, just the dunes are way smaller. That’s why the community has added solid boardwalks that guide visitors over the dunes to protect the senstive environment.
By the way, I really had a hard time deciding for the right crop. I finally opted for the original full frame as the sky is really overwhelming. And there’s plenty of copyspace for those who need it.
