The story behind the image
San Francisco in California is full of beautiful, almost magical, places. This photo, for example, shows the Transamerica Pyramid. I found this beautiful spot on Columbus Avenue near Washington Square. It’s almost straight from the slide scan, with just minimal edits made in Photoshop (see comparison below). 😉
Anyway, I love the way the iconic building is being illuminated by the soft sunlight. The clear blue sky adds a Californian mood (and some copyspace) while the trees and the street are in harsh contrast, framing the light and elegant building which is perfectly centered.
Lovely, and – as I wrote above – truly magical.
