The story behind the image
Further to my post yesterday, I wanted to share this alternative image of the Rudolf von Thüna (D-ANOY), a replica Junkers Ju 52/3m that is exhibited at the outdoor visitor area of the airport in Munich, Germany.
While this image lacks the drama and excitement of the other shot, I think this image is also interesting, because I remember having walked around the plane for a while to find an angle that shows (most of) the aircraft body without showing any parts of the other two historic airplanes exhibited, the nearby highway or the airport buildings. And this is pretty difficult. What’s more, the focal length of 50 mm provides a very natural perspective (on the full frame Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II).
Anyway, I like this shot. (But, of course, I like the other shot much more.)
