The story behind the image
County Cork in Ireland is a beautiful space. Cork itself is a vibrant small city, and its surroundings feature some stunning locations. Like the village of Roches Point, which is situated 40 minutes by car from downtown Cork. It sits on a small peninsula with a small lighthouse (Roches Point Lighthouse) at its end.
The afternoon light was perfect for this shot from Trabolgan, the only road that leads into the village and sits high above the official small car park. I like the way the sunlight illuminates the houses leading up to the lighthouse, the surface of the Atlantic Ocean that indicates the strong wind on that day, and the fact that I captured the light inside the lighthouse. (I remember that I waited for this to happen.)
