The story behind the image
I took this photo of Lake Tegernsee on a beautiful and warm autumn afternoon. Incredibly, some of the passengers on the small excursion boat wear just T-shirts, but all of them enjoy the afternoon sun. The building in the right is the town hall of Tegernsee, the small, but busy, community that has adopted the name of the lake for their village.
I put the focus on the passenger ferry by using an aperture value of 2.8 to slightly blur the background (and avoid camera shake from the non-IS lens.) I like how the light blue color of the water and sky dominates the picture, while the tiny waves created by the ferry break the calm, mirror-like surface. Nice.
