The story behind the image
Today is my birthday. But while I am writing this I feel a bit like on this selfie I took last year in Unteruhldingen, Lake Constance, in Germany. Exhausted. Tired. Shattered.
There was this tall mirror that covered the entire wall. Some moron must have tried to destroy it but just achieved to crack it. One might say ‘in a beautiful way’, but the owner certainly would disagree. But there it was: a full-length mirror with countless cracks.
I was waiting for Petra and took a photo of my reflection in this broken mirror. You know, selfies are usually not my kind of photos, but here I could not resist. The splintering was so delicate, the reflection so blurry, the colors so desaturated. Of course, it’s a fun shot – with a drop of reality.
Well then, happy birthday to me! 😉
