The story behind the image
We were on a sailing trip that brought us to Sønderburg, a vibrant town in Southern Denmark. This photo shows its skyline and waterfront, seen from the water. The majestic church that overlooks the historic town center is the Sct. Marie Kirke.
Sønderburg had been a very pleasant stay for us. The weather had been calm and warm, and we were exploring the historic town center with its rich history and small streets. There is even a castle that is still being used by the Danish royal family today. And if you want to take a bath, there is a small beach.
All this was just within walking distance from the yacht harbour, the Sønderborg Lystbådehavn. Nice.
