The story behind the image
This image from our Ricoh CX1 shows Bellagio which is situated at the Lago di Como in Italy. The town is one of those diamonds that can be discovered almost anywhere around the lake. It certainly has seen better times and depends on tourism today but still is a very attractive place to stay and popular with tourists. Yet, it has a certain sleepy charm as the tourists distribute across the town.
This image is one of the iconic views of Bellagio. You’ve got everything in a single image: the surrounding mountains, the lake with three historic buildings on the opposite side (Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Villa Carlotta, and Grand Hotel Cadenabbia), an old street light, and the narrow, steep stairs of Salita Serbelloni. I love it.
