The story behind the image

One of the major attractions during Kiel Week are the many tall ships that visit the city. Typically, they sail down to the city center and open their ship for visitors, often also offering trip to watch the sailing races on the Baltic Sea near Kiel.

We were on the tall ship Mir, already on our way back to the city center, when the majestic Kruzenshtern passed by near Friedrichsort on her way to the open Baltic Sea.

More information on the Kruzenshtern can be found at schiffsspotter.de.
