The story behind the image
Here’s a 1999 view across the Olympic Park in Munich. I think this must have been a beautiful day in early spring. The (artificial) lake is still frozen, but the tree on the left shows first signs of life.
While the Olympic Park is well worth a visit at any time of the year, this photo is special because the construction works for the BMW Welt at the corner Georg-Brauchle-Ring/Lerchenauer Straße has not yet even begun. Today, you will notice that huge museum between the TV tower and the buildings at the right edge of the image.
