The story behind the image
Internal competitions of our local sports club are always good fun. Everyone (especially the young athletes) is in a good mood, while the event management provides professional services like professional time taking, intermediate results, and music. Parents bring healthy (and sometimes not-so-healthy food) and cheer for their kids.
I had been asked to capture some mood shots which I cannot share due to data protection laws. However, I also did some generic shots, and this is one of these.
A group of 12 runners was about to start the 800 m race, and even if there was no huge prizes to win, they were engaged and really nervous. Every single one of them gave his best and aim for winning the race or – at least – finish it. And this passion shows at the starting line, even if there were no huge prizes waiting for the winners. Which is great in my view.
