The story behind the image
Here’s an interesting photo from the family archives. It shows the working harbor of Alicante in Spain in April 1957. There are only very few historic images available on the Internet, so this view is pretty unique.
I like the simplicity of this shot: The boats are neatly lined up at the tidy pier, very few people, nice illumination from the side, probably by the late afternoon sun, and in general a composition with clear lines, including the pier starting at the bottom right corner and the vertically centered horizon. Nice.
