The story behind the image
Dresden is Germany is a fantastic destination for a weekend trip in summer. It is a vibrant city with a long and rich history that shows almost everywhere.
One of the absolute highlights is the ‘Fürstenzug’ (‘Treck of Princes’) mosaic image at the Augustusstraße. It is really long (over 100 Meters!), made from roughly 23,000 porcellain tiles and is in perfect condition. It shows important Saxonian leaders of the past – between 1127 and 1873 – in one long treck.
You can find a super-large panorama photo (61972 x 3888 Pixels) of the entire treck and some more details on Wikipedia (in German.)
Truly impressive.
