The story behind the image
St.-Peter-Ording in Northern Germany is an awesome place for lovers of the sea. You’ll get a giant beach (probably one of the top beaches at the German North Sea), fresh and salty air, good food, friendly people, and all amenities you may expect from a premium tourist destination. You will also get – a restaurant built on stilts!
The ‘Arche Noah’ is a fine dining restaurant that has been built right onto the beach! The team offers fine dining with a focus on mediterranean food. The look of the building has slightly changed since 2007 and has now a more modern logo but the stunning location has remained.
I like this photo because the building looks somewhat surreal, out of place, and almost like an UFO that has just landed on the beach. The pale light of the setting sun in spring created a beautiful reduced color set, and the people on the right put the size of the building into perspective.
