The story behind the image
On our way to Santa Barbara, we had read about Lompoc being “The Flower-Seed Capital of the World” and wanted to see this by ourselves. Indeed, there are some large flower fields around Lompoc which are nicely arranged, and I took this photo to show off their bright colors. It’s also interesting to take a look at the area with Google Maps. The large rectangles of the fields contrast bizarrely with the surrounding hills and the buildings of Lompoc.
