The story behind the image
My company had arranged an event in Munich, Germany, for key customers and prospects. The location: The Design Offices München Highlight Towers – one of the finest event locations in town. They have their offices and event space in one of the floors at the top, and the views at night were awesome.
I had brought just my tiny EOS M with the 18-55 mm kit lens, but the result of the 32 second exposure is still very good. The photo shows the view towards west, across the busy Petuelring which is part of the ring road around the city. Fortunately, the traffic was flowing, so the lights of the cars left colorful traces. The illuminated tower in the back is the BMW Headquarter building.
I like this long exposure shot because the traffic withits bright red light emerges from the center of the image, almost like lava flowing from a vulcano. What’s more, this is a rare view that can only be captured from the top of the Highlight Towers. Nice.
