The story behind the image
The sky was clear when we came to Seligman in Arizona. We passed the Historic Route 66 Motel with its huge signpost, and I realized that it could be an attractive image, because of the harsh shadows and the special mood it communicates. It could be an image from the 1960s almost as if the time has stopped here. (Admittedly, ‘H.B.O.’ was only founded in 1972, so this may spoil the impression.) I also like the restricted color set with blue dominance.
By the way, looking at recent images, the signpost has not significantly changed over the past two decades. Go figure. 🙂
