The story behind the image
Back in 2017 I have picked up running again, and – unbelievable but true – I’ve stayed with that sport. Over time, I have developed from mere jogger to genuine runner. And I participated in several public runs.
I shot this image on the morning of the Generali München Marathon where I participated in the 10 km competition. Start and finish were at the Olympic Park in Munich, and I got there early to enjoy the mood and prepare a bit. When I went from the car park to the stadium, this beautiful image struck me, and sure enough I took a photo with my phone.
By the way, I finished in 48:21, ranking as 28th of 190 runners in my age group (M50 back then), which was a very good result for me.
