The story behind the image

As I posted this morning, we spent last week in Paris. On a beautiful evening we went up to the observation deck of Tour Montparnasse to experience the views across the city. Now, their website promised “breathtaking views” and simply “the best view of Paris”. And I shrugged, thinking, “yeah, sure. Marketing language!”

But I was wrong.

For us, the visit to the 56th floor had been a breathtaking experience. Stunning views from high above the city. Super clean windows for good photos. We entered the building at 8:30 pm and after the security checks we went up to the Observation Deck in just 38 seconds. And we were overwhelmed by the views, even more so when we discovered the Eiffel Tower!

We watched the sun set and spent more than two hours up there. Awesome.

As you know, I’m afraid of heights, but this was okay. I felt extremely well and safe up here. I even tried the stairs that lead up to the rooftop but returned half-way. But I’m not sorry for this, because the 56th floor was perfect.

I captured a number of images and picked this one to share with you.
