The story behind the image
Here is another image by photographer Carl Haas who explored California and the U.S. in 1958. He was equipped with excellent Kodachrome films and his images look as fresh and vivid today – almost seven decades after he captured the images – as they looked back then. This fact alone turns them into fantastic photographic documents. However, he also managed to find stunning views that grab for attention.
He seemed to be attracted by flowers as the set contains several images of wild flower fields just like this one showing colorful Blue Bonnets and Indian Paintbrush that dominate the image while the mountains in the back are still visible. It must have been an overwhelming experience for him, and I am glad that he captured this view.
Awesome.
