The story behind the image
In 2005 we spent almost a week in Rome and explored the city using a good mix of public transport and walking.
One day we walked from the Piazza dell’Esquilino all the way to the church Santa Trinita dei Monti which is located at the of the Spanish Steps. The perfect route to do this is the Via delle Quattro Fontane because it is the shortest way. This walk was uneventful at first, but this changed once we reached the Via Venti Settembre. From there we had the perfect view at the obelisc standing in front of Santa Trinita dei Monti.
I used a long tele lens to capture this view along the busy street. And I realized that Rome was indeed built on hills. This reminded me of San Francisco.
Very nice.
