The story behind the image
This morning I shared the image of the Bordighera (IM) train station with you, and I explained what makes this train line so special.
Here is another view of Bordighera showing the harbour of the town in the early 1960s. Back then, there were no yachts, but you can clearly see the two-track trainline which is as close to the water as possible. And this makes this train line so special.
There are surprisingly few changes over the past six decades. The harbour has been upgraded with narrow streets and additional space for ships. Along the coastline, a new general area has been built into the water, and to the left and right of it, small beaches have been established. Oh, and the building with the eye-catching tower is still around and hosts holiday appartments today.
This image has developed a terrible blue stain over time, and it was quite an effort to recover the colors as the photographer probably might have seen them when the slide came back from the lab.

Borgheria? Definitely on my bucket list for Italy.
