The story behind the image

This image from the family archive was shot by my mother. Sadly, she did not provide further details, i.e. no place, no date, no name.

It is most likely that the lady on the photo is one of her friends. On a warm day late in spring or early in summer, they probably went to a park in Kiel, Germany, to take some photos. Just like folks do today with their smartphones, just a bit slower. 😉

Despite not knowing who she is, I like her image. Her white dress was heavily reflecting the strong sunlight which created a sort of halo around her body making her stand out against the meadow in the park. (This effect is not something I applied in Photoshop.) She looks self-conscious and happy in her current state. Her sunglasses, the headscarf and the fashionable light dress remind me of Grace Kelly in ‘To Catch A Thief’ and ‘Rear Window’.

Just wow.
