The story behind the image
The Rock of Cashel is a fortress that sits on a large rock in Co. Tipperary. Most of the buildings that can be seen today date from the 12th and 13th centuries. (More facts can be found on Wikipedia.)
We were driving through the countryside and had a couple of rainshowers earlier that day. Needless to say, we were a bit sad about the weather, and morale was low. This changed, however, when we approached Cashel to visit the famous fortress. The dark clouds, subdued colors and low contrast added a somewhat dark mood to the image.
A good match for our feelings back then.
