The story behind the image
Montreal is an exceptional city in any aspect. Not only has it the traditional French flair and has a lot of culture – it also has a busy harbour for ships of any size.
We enjoyed our evening walk along the Promenade du Vieux-Port passing several nice yachts. A wonderful maritime experience.
However, one yacht was truly stunning: the Blue Moon, a 60m (198ft) motor yacht built in The Netherlands by Feadship. It dwarfed all the other ships in the basin and attracted several admirers (including us.)
One (not so small) detail blew me away: on the first level a speedboat was tucked away, apparently to get passengers to and from a harbour (or beach) when the yacht has to anchor outside of the destination. Wow.

Later I found out that the yacht can be chartered. It serves up to 12 guests in 6 cabins. At the time of writing, rates were starting at $395,000 per week (excluding expenses.) Which is most certainly affordable – for billionaires.
Whatever. It is an impressive ship, and maybe I can afford it in my next life. 😉
