The story behind the image
I found this photo in the family archive, taken on a bank holiday in 1961. The image shows the traditional Corpus Christi procession where the entire community gathered to walk jointly to the church.
Today, the Hotel Goldener Adler (top left of the image) does not exist anymore, and the petrol station on the right is gone as well, so it was impossible for me to find out where exactly this image was taken.
In any event, this is one of the rare early color photos in our archive from that period. It has survived the 60+ years with just very little damage. The colors have slightly faded, and there are countless tiny dark spots all over the image. Still, it is nice to see a genuine color image from that time (and not some b&w print colorized by AI.)
