The story behind the image
When exploring the magnificient Lago Maggiore in the Alps, you will almost certainly visit the town of Ascona. It is situated on the Swiss side of the lake and combines the best of both worlds: you get Swiss reliability and Italian lifestyle. Can it get any better?
I took this typical postcard shot photo on the Piazza Giuseppe Motta, showing the nice line-up of good restaurants, bars and cafés in town, situated next to the lakeside promenade (aka Lungolago).
Lovely.
