The story behind the image
The Costa Verde, that is literally the Green Coast of Sadinia in Italy, for most parts is an widely untouched eco-spot. However, there was a time when the area was also active in mining. When the mines were closed, the surrounding villages and towns were hit severly.
The remains of the villages and mines are still present as ruins today and can be visited. One morning we made our way to the Mines of Montevecchio. Coming from Arbus we used the SP4 and stopped at the mines which cannot be missed, really.
My image shows the building that I call ‘the building on the edge’ because a lot of the the surrounding soil has been washed away by the weather. As there was no traffic at all, it was very quiet, and looking at the ruins was quite creepy, and exciting at the same time.
