The story behind the image
As the temperatures in Unterhaching, Bavaria, have been below the freezing point over the past few nights, here is an image that reminds me of the joys of summer. One of these joys is renting a push pedal boat at the beach of Bellaria Igea Marina in Italy. 🙂
For this shot I used a waterproof Nikon W100 to capture the exact moment when Clara would be diving into the Mediterranean Sea. Admittedly, the resolution is just so-so but the camera could drop into the water or get wet and you can continue shooting without problems. Sure, brave folks might use their smartphone or a GoPro as well but I am not in this camp.
By the way, this image is completely unedited in terms of colors, exposure, saturation, and contrast. I did apply a minimal crop and a bit of sharpening, though. Amazing.
It’s a fun shot, and I love it.
