The story behind the image
Every now and then I like a bit of drama.
In 2005, we stayed for one night in Fort William in Scotland following a couple of perfect days at the Scottish West Coast. And then, while exploring the city in the evening, dark clouds came up. No. Make that ‘very dark clouds’. Gosh. But we could not resist and walk along the seaside on Achintore Road do some decent shots of the drama.
At home I was quite satisfied with the image – but I forgot it for 2 decades (i.e., until now.)
Seriously, I did not do a lot of editing to this image. The clouds were quite dark, and the remaining sunlight in the back was still bright and golden. The hills on the other side of Loch Linnhe were almost pitch black. So there is a lot of contrast in the original slide.
And that’s why I love the image. 🙂
