The story behind the image
To experience a real Formula 1 racing car up close is probably the dream of many kids, including myself (never mind my age.) When I visited the stunning BMW Museum in Munich, Germany, a couple of days ago, this BMW Sauber F1.06 was part of the exhibition.
Motorsport enthusiasts will love the museum as it offers a permanent exhibition covering the brand’s motorsport activities with various historic racing cars on display.
The BMW Sauber F1.06 was used by the BMW Sauber F1 Team in the 2006 season and was driven by Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld. The team achieved 36 Points and ranked #5 in the world championship.
My photo shows the car in display condition at the museum. Please do take a closer look. Do you notice anything unusual? Like the background with the vertical text, or the weird railing on the left? Whazzat?
Okay, okay. I confess that I made just one tiny edit to the original image: I turned the image by 90 degrees clockwise! That’s because the racing car has been mounted to the wall! How cool is that?! 🙂
