The story behind the image

During our 2025 trip to Bellaria we experienced a couple of days with heavy wind, causing the waves from the open Mediterranean Sea to crash relentlessly against the rock walls that protect the beach.

The currents can get quite strong, and so one afternoon one of the rescue guards hissed the red flag – no swimming allowed! He kept on observing the water, though, just in case someone would be getting into trouble.

Thank you!
