The story behind the image
Spring 2009. The calendar had officially switched to Spring but we stayed for a weekend with several friends at the Simal Alm in Saalbach, Austria. While the snow was quickly melting away down in the valley, the conditions at the Alm – high above the viollage – were perfect!
The ski lift (“Limberg 8er”) was coveniently located right next to the building, and it was still open, much to the enjoyment of the majority of the group. One slow morning I shot this image of the empty ski lift because I loved the graphical look. You know, I am not a skier and enjoyed a sunbath on the patio while the majority of the group was skiing.
