The story behind the image
It’s funny (in a way) to review Christmas photos over the years.
On this photo I’m 10 years old, and violet seemed to be a popular color. The wallpaper in our living room was very 1970s, too. Well, well, those were the days.
A friend had dropped by and we were jointly admiring our Christmas tree with real candles. I am pretty sure that we ran over to his parents’ appartment to do the same thing.
The print has aged significantly over time, but I could restore some of the colors to bring the photo back towards the look when it came back from the lab in 1976. Here is a direct comparison:
