The story behind the image
A couple of weeks ago we’ve been to the grand season opening of the Bayerische Staatsoper (Bavarian State Opera) in Munich, and the opera house had an open-door event before the premiere in the evening.
This enabled us to take a look behind the scenes and to experience the opera house from other angles. This image, for example, shows the view from the Königsloge (Royal Box) which is truly magnificent. Originally built for the Bavarian King, it provides a perfect view of the stage and orchestra. Today, it can be booked as any other box or seat but tickets are expensive and quickly gone.
