The story behind the image
Last spring we enjoyed a full day at the Pferd International 2025 in Munich, Germany. It’s one of the key events for riders and riding fans, offering both exciting competitions as well as insights into riding, including working with horses.
My photo shows RichardHardner (NZL) with Carl Otto 5 jumping over an obstacle at the course of the CSI3* two-phase jumping competition. See his full profile at fei.org.
The photo shows not just the beauty of the horse and this jump, but also the modern technology. Setting the body to high-speed series shooting, it’s easy to capture the couple right in the middle of the jump. (Which was simply impossible in the days of film.)
At up to 13.8 images per second, the Canon EOS M6 Mark II enables excellent insights into the coreography of a jump.

Nice, really nice!
